SWA Member Hazel Reeves wins the PSSA Marsh Award

We are so proud of SWA member Hazel Reeves @hazelreevessculptor who has won the PSSA top award for her sculpture of Emmeline Pankhurst.

"I still can't quite believe it. #OurEmmeline wins the PSSA Marsh Award for Excellence in Public Sculpture! Have to keep pinching myself. A real career highlight. Sculpting Emmeline Pankhurst for St Peter's Square #Manchester was a labour of love and a real team effort. I couldn't have done it on my own. Huge thanks to model Sarah Jenkins, the team at Bronze Age London, Artful Logistics, Mark Longworth, Marji Talbot, Sandra Reeves, John Reeves, Rosie Talbot, Andrew Simcock, Helen Pankhurst, Sarah Judge, Huckleberry Films.

A shout out to the other shortlisted sculptors - Briony Marshall, Thomas J Price, Phyllida Barlow, Rachel Whiteread, Mark Richards - during the Awards ceremony last night it was fascinating and inspiring to delve into the making of their phenomenal works.
