Born Caterham, Surrey. Lives overlooking the west Wales coast in Cardigan Bay.
Strong, energetic and sensitive mark making with expressionistic use of colour are the keynotes of Andie Clay’s semi-abstract mixed media painting and drawing.
In 2011 she was awarded the St Cuthberts Mill Prize at the SWA exhibition, being elected as an associate member in 2012. Sir John Pluthero selected two works for The ING Discerning Eye in 2011. RotoVision included her work in their book Paint! Landscapes. She has twice received an Oppenheim-John Downes Memorial Award.
Andie exhibits regularly both within the UK and further afield including Japan, Ireland, and the USA. Her work has been purchased by the Arts Council of Wales, the British Embassy in Brazil and is in the private collection of former First Minister Rhodri Morgan.
