SANDRA SUMMERS
SWA SBA fellow
I started my career as a florist enjoying every aspect of colour and design.
Working with flowers for many years art was the natural progression for me. Later on I became a freelance artist - colourist working for a minting coin company. I work purely in watercolour and particularly love the transparency and the sence of light of the medium;
There have been many commissions and illustrations including - city buildings - commemorative coins - children and baby name paintings and flower themed wedding planners.
I am a member of the Society of Woman Artists exhibiting annually in the Mall Galleries since 2006 and have won the Princess Michael of Kent watercolour award. I was a member of the Society of Floral Painters and now a Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists.
I have exhibited widely with the SBA in London ,Palmengarten and the Tulipa Tulipae exhibition in the Real Jardin Botanico garden Madrid.
For over 20 years I have enjoyed promoting the arts by teaching watercolour classes.
