JUDITH ROBERTS

Judith Roberts is passionate about the natural world, which she tries to incorporate into her paintings at every opportunity. Her home is on the Sussex Coast on the edge of a nature reserve. It has heavily influenced her current coastal work which is all about texture, from the smoothness of a pebble to the grit of the sand. 

With her wildlife paintings, she uses her texturising techniques to their full advantage to show the rough hides and wrinkles of her subjects whilst capturing the detail of gentle eyes and soft expressions. 

She has been a member of the SWA since 1999 and is a long serving member of the council
