Carol Hill began painting in the 60’s whilst living in the Far East and it was there that she was able to draw ideas from different tutors. She was initially taught to paint in oils and continued to do so for many years as well as Chinese painting. This led to experimenting with watercolour and other mediums. Carols subjects are mainly landscape, seascapes, flowers and still-life. Carol is a qualified teacher in Adult Education and is a regular tutor teaching watercolour and oils. She organises workshops, paintings days and demonstrations to art groups around the country. Carol is President of the Matlock Artist’s Society. She exhibits and holds an annual exhibition at The Little London Gallery in Holloway, Derbyshire. Carol was elected membership of the Society of Womens Artists in 2003. She exhibits at the Mall Galleries every year with the SWA and also at Monttisfont in Hampshire annually with the SFP. In 2002, Carol was awarded the Peoples Choice Award 1st Prize at the Westminster Galleries in London with the SWA. Carol also demonstrates at the Patchings Art Convention in Nottinghamshire for the four day art festival in June each year
