Barbara has been painting since the early seventies and has a passion for portraiture, concentrating on capturing the innocence of the very young following her career in nursing sick and premature babies.

Barbara has no formal art training but was encouraged by Barry Shiraishi HRMS, Miniature artist and Sculptor. She found early success in miniature portraits, winning many awards including the 'Mundy Sovereign' for the best portrait, and also the prestigious 'Gold Memorial Bowl' for the best miniature in show in the Royal Miniature Exhibition.

Barbara who exhibits regularly with the Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers and is Honorary Secretary, also enjoys the freedom of working on larger Oils on canvas.

Now in her third year as President of the Society of Women Artists, which she describes as a very challenging honour and privilege, she hopes to find the time to develop her style.
