In each of my paintings I use colour, texture, brush strokes, composition and the use of light and shade to create not only a portrait but also a beautiful and contemporary piece of work. I enjoy the challenge of large scale and the freedom and power this gives the paintings. Sensitivity to the character of the sitters is essential and forms the bedrock of each portrait.

Originally trained as a theatre designer I also enjoy working on many other commercial projects including decorative, domestic, theatrical and television commissions.

I have exhibited widely including the SWA and The Royal Society of Portrait Painters and several solo exhibitions.
