An exhibiting member of Farnham Arts Society Jean has lived in Hong Kong, Dubai, France and Belgium. Well known for her enthusiasm and passion for art Jean covers a wide range of subjects in a loose and interpretive style. From 1989- 1997 Jean studied Chinese Brushwork in Hong Kong which she now incorporates in her expressive watercolours. Light, colour and sections left to the viewers’ imagination play a vital role in her paintings. In September 1997 Jean moved to Dubai where she held watercolour workshops and courses at the Dubai International Arts Centre. Here she participated in many prestigious events at major galleries and was invited to hold her first solo exhibition at the Hunar Gallery in 2000. Her work soon became collectible and she has since sold many pieces which are now in homes all over the world. 2001-2002 Jean returned to Hong Kong working on commissions and teaching watercolour at the American Club in Tai Tam. Following a short period in both France and Belgium Jean returned to UK in 2006 and regularly exhibits in Hampshire where she also hosts International Watercolour Workshops for artists of an advanced or intermediate level. These are attended by artists from all over the world including South Africa, Italy, France and USA An Associate member of the SWA ( Society for Women Artists ) and Professional Associate of the SAA ( Society for All Artists) Jean regularly writes features for Paint magazine and her first book on watercolour is to be published in 2010. A few of Jeans exhibitions include:- 2000 First Solo Exhibition, Hunar Gallery, Dubai 2004 Brush with the World, Solo Exhibition, Hunar Gallery, Dubai 2006 Elected as Exhibiting Member of Farnham Arts Society 2006 Farnham Arts Society Autumn Exhibition Frank Pullen Award 2007 Talents in Harmony, Phoenix Art Gallery, Hampshire 2008 Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour Exhibition, Mall Galleries, London 2008 Summer Exhibition, Bronze Gallery with John Yardley RI, Richard Sorrell PRWS, RBA, NEAC 2008 Art Liberating Lives Exhibition, Mall Galleries, London 2009 Spring Exhibition with Richard Sorrell PRWS, RBA, NEAC, Bronze Gallery 2009 Jean was elected as an Associate Member of the SWA, Society of Women Artists. 2009 Annual Society of Women Artists Exhibition, Mall Galleries, London Winner of the Anthony J Lester Art Critic Award 2009 2010 Colour and Light in Watercolour, Jeans first book will be available in July. 2010 Spring Exhibition at the Market Street Gallery in Alton, Hampshire. 2010 August .Workshops in Norway.
