You may submit up to four works. Categories of work acceptable are: painting, drawing, sculpture in all media; miniature work in all media, ceramics of a non-utilitarian nature, engraving, lithography, etc. Associate membership Associate membership of the Society is by election only. The first step towards becoming an Associate member (ASWA) is to submit work regularly for the Annual Open Exhibition for consideration by the Selection Committee. Six works must be submitted if seeking Associateship. Although only four works from each non-member may be accepted for hanging, a careful note is made of the quality of all six, and if it is judged that they are exceptional then, subject to the vote of the Selection Committee and the availability of space in the Society (which has a limit of 150 members), the artist will be duly elected to Associate membership. The Selection Committee will only consider the six works presented, they will not take CVs, portfolios, photographs or web page content into account. The fact that six pictures have been submitted will indicate to the Selection Committee that the artist wishes to be considered for Associate membership, there is no need to make any special application or make any extra marks on the entry schedule. In the case of large sculpture, please contact the Executive Secretary as special dispensation could be given for selection by photographs. If you wish to join the mailing list to receive an invitation in the future, please advise the Executive Secretary of your name and address or complete one of the Visitor’s Books which are available on the desks at the Exhibition.
