Catherine is a self-taught artist elected to: Society Of Women Artists (1988), Royal Society Of Miniature Painters (1990), and an Associate of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (1992). Additionally she has exhibited with The Royal Institute, Royal Society of Marine Artists, Royal Watercolour Society and Royal West of England Academy. She works on both large scale and as a miniature painter for which she received the Subject Miniature Award in the 1995 RMS exhibition and has twice received the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery Commendation Of Excellence for a set of miniatures. Originally working in watercolour and attracted to painting colourful boats in coastal and river scenes, more recently her love of the countryside has encouraged larger works in acrylic depicting in bold colour and texture the stunning landscapes found in France and Italy. |
