Caroline de Peyrecave SWA
Portrait Commissions in Charcoal and Oil

Draftsmanship is very important in my work and I believe that it is one of the skills that people are looking for when they commission or buy my work.  Many people think that I have a great sense of capturing someone’s expression and that I connect with the individual person in my work.  I think that my portraits succeed as they merge a traditional technique with a more contemporary approach.  My aim is to produce portraits that show a quality life like intriguing effect.

I take regular commissions and have a lot of experience working with children.  I have recently painted the BTCC racing driver Tom Chilton. In 2009 I was awarded the Caron Keating Award, presented by Gloria Hunniford at the Society of Women Artists annual exhibition. This year I have been awarded the Sue Coombs Portraiture award. I also have work in private collections in Brussels, France and throughout the UK.
